What is Books With A Conscience?
Books With A Conscience is a monthly book subscription box that aims to give the majority of their profits to charity. Each month a specific charity will be chosen by the team and all of the money from that month will be sent directly to that charity.
What will I get in each box?
Each month’s delivery will provide you with:
- A hardback book that is personalised for your reading preferences.
- Information about the monthly charity so you can see where your money is making a difference.
What are the differences between the subscription tiers?
There is no difference in the products you will receive each month. Whatever tier you pick you will still get a hardback book and information about the charity. The only difference is the amount that will be donated from your subscription.
- A tier one subscription will have a minimum of £2.00 donated per month to our chosen charity.
- A tier two subscription will have a minimum of £5.00 donated per month to our chosen charity.
- A tier three subscription will have a minimum of £7.00 donated per month to our chosen charity.
What is the cut off point for each month?
You need to subscribe by the 5th of the month to be eligible for that month’s box. From them on you will be charged on the 1st of every month.
For example, if you sign up on the 4th of January you will be charged straight away and you will receive a January box. You will then next be charged on the 1st of February. However, if you sign up on the 15th of January you won’t be charged until the 1st of February and a February box will be the first one that you receive.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently only accept orders from within the UK and so cannot ship internationally.
When should I expect my book to arrive?
We send out the books on the 14th of the month (except when the 14th is a Sunday). All customers should expect their books to arrive around 2-4 working days after this date. If you have not received your book by the 24th of the month please get email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will endeavour to locate your parcel.
Will my book fit through my letterbox?
Since our books are hardback, they usually don’t fit through a standard letter box. This means you may have to pick up your box at your local sorting office if you are not in when it is delivered.
Why should I trust the opinions of Books With A Conscience?
Every month, all books will have been read and reviewed by our team so that you can ensure Books With A Conscience is only promoting and sending out the very best books.
A range of books from several different genres will be available each month and we will pick the book we think best suits you based on the answers you gave in your sign up survey. This will ensure you have the most enjoyable reading experience possible.
In terms of the charities we donate to, the Books With A Conscience team spends a lot of time researching local and small charities to support. We are always in direct contact with our charity partners and have vetted them to ensure their policies fit our values here at Books With A Conscience. We will also make sure we know exactly where the money from your subscriptions is going and what difference it will make. How do I change my address?
If you have moved or would like to get your box delivered to a different address please change this on your customer profile before the 5th of the month. To do this you can log on to your Books With A Conscience account and go to manage subscriptions. From here you can click edit next to you shipping address and enter in your new address.
If you need to change your address after the 5th of the month please email us at email@example.com and we will try and accommodate your request, however we cannot guarantee this will be possible.
Can I pause my subscription or skip a month?
Yes, if you would like to pause your subscription you can log into your account on our website and go to manage subscriptions. From here you can go to subscription settings and choose pause subscription. You are able to pause your subscription for 1 or 2 months and you won’t be charged during this time.
Please make sure you pause your subscription before the 1st of the month or you will be charged for that month and will skip the next month. Additionally, please be aware that you can only pause your subscription if you have been subscribed to a Books With A Conscience product for at least 4 months.
How do I cancel my subscription?
If you would like to cancel your subscription you can log into your account on our website. From there, click on subscription settings, choose cancel subscription and then click confirm. Not sure you want to cancel? Maybe try pausing your subscription for a month or two before you decide whether to cancel completely.
